# RPO & RTO

**Primary region:** us-west-1\
**DR region:** us-west-2

**RPO (recovery point objective)**

* Within region (AZ/instance failures): **15 minutes** for Aurora and S3 configuration data
* Region loss: **24 hours** via daily cross‑Region snapshot copy (Aurora) and S3 versioning

**RTO (recovery time objective)**

* AZ / instance failures: **30 minutes** (Aurora failover + stateless services)
* Region recovery: **4 hours** (restore in us‑west‑2 + redeploy)

**Scope**\
In‑flight notification events during a region outage may be dropped. Clients should retry with idempotency.
